Welcome to CARTER Class
MR MARCUS HALMSHAW
(Class Teacher, Head of School, SENDCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead)
Carter class consists of Year 2, 3 and 4 pupils, taught by Mr Halmshaw and supported by Mrs Philpott and Mrs Lancaster.
This autumn term Carter Class will be learning about Ancient Egypt as part of their topic work. We will also be learning about forces including springs and magnets as part of our science work. Year 2 are busy rehearsing for the KS1 performance along with the rest of Miss Reynold's Class.
As a class we are focussing on learning multiplication tables and have regular tests on Fridays along with our weekly spelling test, also on Fridays. In the New Year we are planning to give Year 2 pupils an additional PE lesson on Thursday instead of their Tuesday session.
Earlier this term we visited How Hill to learn about thatching as part of our link with the local church which has just been re-thatched. We are also going to create a prayer area in the church as well as creating a short visitor guide to the church.
Next term's topic is going to be rivers, mountains and oceans so watch out for the topic outline and new homework sheet.
